Hendricks House & Hansen House for Men and Hansen House for Women are in-patient treatment Halfway Houses.  Our program’s minimum length of stay is 90days.  We offer an opportunity for clients who would like to continue their treatment through an inpatient setting that also allows them to work, pay rent and participate in household chores, such as cooking and cleaning among others.  Along with life skills training, we offer individual counseling, group sessions and attendance of NA/AA meetings at least five times a week.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become a resident?

  1. All of our treatment facilities have the same admission criteria. Most importantly, you must currently be in a residential treatment facility for initial treatment and be referred by your primary counselor. We are the next level of care, and we require that you are in initial treatment and are interested in furthering your drug and alcohol treatment.

What types of Residential Treatment Facilities would be considered as primary treatment?

  1. Residential Treatment Facilities such as New Hope Foundation- Monmouth County, New Jersey, Sunrise House – Sussex County, New Jersey, Post House – Burlington County, New Jersey, Maryville In-patient – Williamstown, New Jersey and The Institute for Human Development – Atlantic County, New Jersey.  These types of residential treatment centers offer initial treatment not just detoxification, which is crucial to your continued recovery.

How would I pay for my treatment?

  1. We are a non-profit state funded residential treatment facility.  We are funded by the State of New Jersey.  We have county contracts through some of the counties in New Jersey that will pay for your treatment.  We also have Drug Court contracts, Mutual Agreement Program contracts, South Jersey Initiatives Contracts and Work First Contracts.  When your Primary Counselor calls to refer you, we will discuss your options for funding. The client is required to pay $120 a week for rent.

The Judge has ordered me to residential treatment instead of doing time in jail. Can you help me?

  1. Unfortunately, we do not take clients directly from the street. We still require that you attend a primary residential treatment center prior to coming to our Halfway Houses. You will still need to contact one of the above primary treatment facilities, and if you are admitted for primary treatment, you then may be referred to our Halfway Houses by your primary counselor.

If I am admitted to your program, would I be able to go home on the weekends?

  1. After clients are here for 30 days, they can put in a request for a weekend pass to an approved address.  Clients are eligible for a pass every other weekend.

Will I be able to have visitors while in treatment?

  1. Visitors are welcome with approval from staff on Sundays between the hours of 1 pm - 5 pm.
